Domain questions
Which domain extension should I choose?
Most South African businesses choose .co.za: it is affordable and tells customers you are local. Choose .com if you sell internationally, and consider registering both so nobody else takes your name.
Do I own the domain?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name or your company's name, with your contact details as the registrant. We manage it for you, and you can move it to another provider at any time.
How quickly is my domain registered?
Usually within minutes of your payment being confirmed. You receive an email and SMS when it is done. In the rare case a registry needs a manual check, we confirm within one business day.
What does it cost to renew?
The renewal price is shown next to every extension before you pay. We remind you by email and SMS 30 days and 7 days before your domain expires, with a link to renew online.
Can I move my existing domain to Digitalx?
Yes. Choose "Transfer a domain", enter the domain and its transfer (EPP) code from your current provider, and pay the transfer fee. .co.za transfers usually complete within a few days.
Can I get a refund on a domain?
Domain registrations are paid to the registry and cannot be refunded, so please check the spelling before you pay. See our refund policy for details.
