What Pages Should a Business Website Have?

The six pages almost every small business website needs, and what to put on each one.

On this page

Quick answer: Home, Services, About, Work, Contact and FAQs. Start there, then add pages only when customers need them.

1. Home

Say what you do, where you do it and how to get in touch, all before anyone scrolls. One clear button, such as "Get a quote", does more than five.

2. Services

One section, or one page, per service. Say who it is for, what is included and the starting price if you can share it. Separate pages for each service also help you show up on Google for each one.

3. About

People buy from people. Share who is behind the business, how long you have been going and why customers can trust you, such as registrations, memberships and reviews.

4. Work or gallery

Photos of real jobs, named clients and short results. This is often the page that wins the enquiry.

5. Contact

Phone, WhatsApp, email, address or service area, and a short form. Make every one of them tappable on a phone.

6. FAQs

Answer the questions you hear every week: price, timing, areas you cover, payment. It saves you calls and builds trust.

Pages you also need

  • A privacy policy, because South Africa's POPIA applies when you collect personal information through forms.
  • Terms, if you sell online.
