Quick answer: Send a test, then check the spam folder and the address the form sends to. If nothing arrives, the usual causes are a changed email address, missing email authentication records, a spam filter or a broken script. Forms should send through an authenticated email service.
Test it properly
- Fill in the form yourself, using an address that is not the destination address.
- Note any message the form shows after you press send.
- Check the destination inbox and its spam or junk folder.
- Try again from a phone on mobile data.
Usual causes
| Cause | Fix |
|---|---|
| The destination address changed or the mailbox is full | Update the address; clear space |
| Form emails fail SPF/DKIM checks and are rejected or marked spam | Send through an authenticated email service and publish the right DNS records |
| A spam-protection check is failing | Check the bot-protection keys and settings |
| A website update broke the form | Restore or repair it, then retest |
| The form posts to an old third-party service | Move it to a server-side endpoint you control |
Make forms reliable
- Show a clear success or error message, and a reference number
- Validate fields on the server, not only in the browser
- Use spam protection and rate limiting
- Send through a transactional email service with SPF and DKIM
- Test the form every month
Tip: Until it is fixed, add your WhatsApp number and email address prominently, so enquiries aren't lost.
