Quick answer: Use IMAP so your email syncs on every device. Incoming IMAP uses port 993 with SSL, and outgoing SMTP uses port 465 with SSL (or 587). Your username is your full email address.

IMAP keeps your email on the server and syncs it across your phone, laptop and webmail. POP3 downloads mail to one device. Choose IMAP.
