Website Launch Checklist

Everything to check before and right after a website goes live, from forms and SSL to Search Console and backups.

On this page

Quick answer: Before launch, check the content, every form and button, mobile layout, speed, SSL and legal pages. After launch, submit the sitemap in Search Console, redirect old URLs, test email and confirm backups are running.

Content

  • No placeholder text or sample images left anywhere
  • Phone numbers, email, address and hours are correct
  • Prices and service details are current
  • Spelling checked on every page

Function

  • Every form sends, and the message arrives in the right inbox
  • WhatsApp, phone and email links work on a phone
  • No broken links
  • Online stores: a test order, payment, confirmation email and refund all work

Mobile and speed

  • Pages look right on a small phone screen
  • Images are compressed and pages load quickly on mobile data
  • Text is readable without zooming

Security

  • SSL is active and the site loads on https:// without warnings
  • Admin passwords are strong and unique
  • Backups are scheduled and a restore has been tested

Search

  • Every page has a unique title and description
  • No "noindex" tag left on from development
  • The sitemap is submitted in Google Search Console
  • Old page addresses redirect to the new ones (301 redirects)
  • Your Google Business Profile links to the new site

Legal and consent

  • A privacy policy is linked in the footer and near forms
  • Analytics and advertising tags load only after visitors give consent, if you use them
  • Online stores show business details, delivery and returns information

Tip: Keep a list of every login involved: domain, hosting, email and website admin. Store it in a password manager, not in an email.
